You will learn how to expose and develop film to get exactly the negative you want to work with in every situation. It is a pivotal skill in black & white photography and essential if you want to master the craft. Nothing in this is difficult but it involves judgment and precise processing. It is a short but thorough introduction to the Zone System.

Content
- Establishing the correct ISO rating for your film when it is used
- with your equipment and methods.
- Exposing and developing a negative so it has exactly the detail
- you want in a form ideal for printing on the materials you use.
- How to get feedback from every film you take to constantly and
- correctly adjust your exposure / development technique.
Prerequisites
- A camera you can use in manual mode or an automatic camera on which you can choose the ISO setting and which has an auto-exposure lock.
- Reasonable fluency in using your camera.
- An exposure meter either in camera or separate.
- A real desire to understand black and white.
