David Roberts was born in Iowa, USA in 1954. He matriculated at Iowa State University and earned a BA in Philosophy (Hons) in 1979. In 1980 he began a Master of Arts program in New Testament and Greek at Denver Theological Seminary that he successfully completed in 1984. Further graduate studies in linguistics were pursued at the University of North Dakota and the University of Texas at Austin.
1986-1996. Spent ten years in Far North America, with the Inuit in the Arctic and the Dene in northern Canada. This work involved learning native language and culture while living in remote settings.
1996-2000. Administrative manager for medium size construction business.
2000-present. Emigrated to Australia where he has been exploring this unique place through the lenses of cameras.
